January Nineteen

Yesterday I went to Lygon St with my two best friends. Unfortunately I didn't take my camera, for three reasons, one: I had to go straight to work from Lygon st, two: I don't have a case for it, and three: I don't even have a big sturdy handbag to fit it in. I love little small evening bags because I think they're cuter and so much more convenient.
I wore: Docs, a black skirt, an italian wool jumper and super thick black tights.

While I was at the Sportsgirl there, hunting for a hat, I found a bag that I liked. It was even better that I had a giftcard from my birthday. I also found a pair of sunglasses I really like, but I'll buy them when I get paid. It's got an adjustable handle and the buckles have poppy things underneath thankfully. I just hope it's strong.

Pretty Pictures

It's such a shame that all the inspiration for year 12 studio arts has to be from artists instead of just randomly chosen photographs that you like. I guess getting used to an artist's work and their history is good for the exam, but how can I find an artist whose work will be relevant inspiration for the whole year? I think it's a bit unfair. Hehe I might just throw in some anyway!

January Eighteen

I have been doing nothing in the past three days. I should have been blogging.
Nothing is a lie, but I haven't been doing all that much more.
On Sunday (the 16th), my father and went out and bought an dSLR camera for my birthday! I'm quite excited about it! It's actually my first camera, I used to borrow my mum and my dad's for when I felt like taking photos.
When I got home, I realized that I should have bought a memory card! Due to my un-forward thinking I wasn't able to take photos for a whole day. Devastating really, especially when you get a new toy. It felt like when I was little and the new toy required batteries, the kind that you don't just have, like a 9V.
Then on Monday, I went to Officeworks and bought a MicroDrive. The annoying part is that I didn't have anything to take photos of! My parents, brother and cat get quite boring to take photos of after about ten minutes.
Today, I woke up at one and had to go to work, which was quite sad because I hadn't been in over a week and a half. I don't like working, being a check out girl basically sucks. Again, another day with nothing to photograph.
Tomorrow, I am going to Lygon st with my two bestfriends to celebrate my birthday and my bestfriend's birthday which is most ironically on the exact same day! I'll have to take my camera and put it to good use.

Before these three incredibly boring days, was my birthday, and as it seems for most people my age, (or maybe just those in my area?) I had dinner with nine friends at Taco Bill's. My best friend bought her camera so I have some good photos from that! I had a fish bowl margarita and got one of those sombreros! I don't particularly like Mexican food, I just wanted a strawberry margarita. The Taco Bill in Russell St isn't particularly big, and so when they began singing happy birthday (much to my objections) the whole place joined in! It was really quite embarrassing, but I guess you only turn seventeen once.
I wore: HUGE false eyelashes, black skort/golf style shorts, clogs and a bow tie top.

January Fourteen

It's my birthday tomorrow! I'm so excited! It's sad that I'm only turning 17 instead of 18 because then I could go out and do whatever I wanted! Oh well, only one more year and I'm sure that I'll find someone that looks like me... hopefully!
Today the weather has been so much nicer, compared to what it has been lately.
I'm wearing my Cheap Monday jeans, Angel Biba americana top, Windsor Smith clogs (which I didn't have on yet!).

I love my clogs, they are so comfy and they're the only sandal-type shoes I have this summer! The weather hasn't been that hot at all, so I keep putting it off but I really want a pair of jelly sandals!

January Thirteen

It's my dad's birthday today. Happy Birthday Dad! He won't see this, but I think it's nice anyway.
He was out in the morning and my mother and I went out to buy his present, an iPod alarm clock thing. While in the electronic-y store, I spied the cameras, and I realized that I would really love one for my birthday, which is in only two days! I've been on some websites and price-wise it's between about five cameras at the moment, but tomorrow I'm going to a camera shop so the guy there can tell what's best. I probably don't need a fancy SLR, however I am doing photography as one of my year 12 subjects and I guess a good camera of my own would be an advantage. But I don't have that much money to spend on a camera at the moment and I think that if I want a good one then I would definitely have to contribute some.

The weather in Melbourne has been disgusting lately, humid and rainy. I hate the heat and summer. The only reason I like it is because there is no school for two months and Christmas, New Years and all of my close families birthdays.

This is what I wore a couple of days ago with my favourite umbrella which I got at an op shop for only $4.

January Twelve

Today I dragged my friend Sal out shopping with me.
I went out in the hope of finding a birthday dress and looked all around the city and Smith St. However, I didn't end up finding one. I was pretty disappointed.
I didn't come home empty handed, I bought red dye to re-colour my hair and get rid of the horrendous 1cm of re-growth. I am one of those people that absolutely hates re growth, I would dye my hair every week if it wasn't bad for it.
I also tried on a pair of Cheap Mondays with the intention of just finding my size and then ordering some online for a cheaper price from the US. I tried on the black od very stretch and I couldn't leave them behind. I convinced myself by saying that I only have one other pair of jeans, blue ones, and since I have to wear casual in year 12, then I should at least have a black pair of jeans as well.

...

I cannot think of how to begin this. I mean, how exactly does one begin a blog?
So, here is my attempt.

I am sitting at my desk in my bedroom, while my giant fluffy cat is walking around my feet. It has been a rainy day and is now turning into a rainy night.
I didn't do much today, my friend came over and we watched the Coco Chanel movie with Shirley Maclaine in it, which I enjoyed thoroughly.
Watching this movie I realized how much I enjoy fashion and fashion blogs and I thought that I should put myself out there.

I have been wanting to make a blog for a while and have had several attempts, but it was quite hard when I had to wear a uniform everyday. However, the year 12's at my school (my final year, thank God!) are allowed to wear anything they want and I thought that it was a perfect opportunity to make a blog, one that I will hopefully persist with. It will also hopefully be an outlet from the treachery that will be VCE year 12.

Well, anyway, in case I rambled on too much, this will most probably be a blog about my clothes and how I dress etc, and maybe the occasional post like this where I ramble. I hope this made sense!
